Questions and answers
Does it work with Yoast SEO?
Yes. With Yoast or Rank Math active, Ogou translates the SEO title and meta description per page, steps aside on the canonical tag, and adds the language versions to its own sitemap.
Do I need a separate site for each language?
No. One WordPress install serves every language: each translation is a real page with its own clean URL such as /fr/contact/.
Will it break my Elementor design?
No. Only the text changes; layout, styles and widgets are preserved, and each language is an independent copy with its own element IDs.
Do I have to use AI?
No. You can translate entirely by hand in the editor. AI is optional and you review every draft.
Which AI providers work?
Any OpenAI-compatible provider (OpenAI, Groq, Gemini and others). You bring your own API key, and a fallback provider can be set.
A translated page shows 404. What now?
Open Multilanguage → Diagnostics and click Repair (or go to Settings → Permalinks and click Save). This refreshes the URL rules and fixes most page-not-found problems.
Can I move from WPML or Polylang?
Ogou exposes the common WPML hooks and includes migration adapters, so themes and plugins that expect WPML keep working.
